DetailsHABC Athletic Scholarship available for Seniors
The purpose of the HHS HABC Scholarship is to recognize athletic achievement, promote good sportsmanship, encourage scholastic achievement among all athletes at Heritage High School and to assist with the costs of a higher education. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one male student athlete and one female student athlete annually.
Eligibility: Any graduating senior of Heritage High School who has participated in organized, inter-school athletics for at least two full years (at least one of which must have been during that student athlete’s senior year at Heritage High School) will be eligible for this scholarship. The applicant shall have been accepted (or have made application and is pending) to a recognized institution of higher learning. This scholarship is subject to NCAA rules and regulations. Eligibility Guidelines Eligibility Criteria: Athletic Participation: Applicant must be a 12th grade student in good standing at Heritage High School who has participated as an athlete in at least one high school sport for a minimum of two full seasons. The applicant’s record will be verified by the Athletic Director’s office and then by the Scholarship Selection Committee after submission of the application. Leadership: You must have exemplified leadership during all games that you participated in as an athlete at HHS. Leadership qualities include being a positive example/role model for others in regards to your attitude toward team members, coaches, equipment, officials and spectators during all games as an athlete at HHS. Academic Achievement: Student must have a minimum weighted cumulative high school grade point weighted average (through the end of the current quarter) of 2.5. The applicant’s GPA will be verified by his/her guidance counselor after submission of the application. Higher Education: Student must plan to enroll in an institute of higher learning within six months of graduation from Heritage High School. Such institutions include not only colleges and universities, but also technical and vocational schools. Financial Need: Financial need is not a consideration. Booster Club Membership: Student’s parent/guardian must be a current participating member of the HHS Husky Athletic Booster Club. (Parents/Guardians who have helped with an HHS athletic team(s) will also be considered as a participating member as long as they are a paid member of the HABC). Student must also be a member of the HHS Husky Athletic Booster Club. Membership to the HABC will be verified by HABC Membership Committee. Application Process: There are two forms to be completed online and submitted to the booster email address. The student athlete submits the application, and the teacher/coach submits the recommendations. If you are unable to submit them through email, please contact the Heritage Booster President at heritageathleticboosterpres@gmail.com and he/she will make accommodations.
